About The Event
Join this unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across the legal profession to rewire contracts and invent new laws to fight climate change.
This interactive event is facilitated by The Chancery Lane Project, a collaboration between barristers, solicitors and academics to create the legal conditions necessary to achieve Net Zero emissions.
The Hackathon takes place on the morning of Monday 27 April, between 8am and 2pm, at the London School of Economics and is intended for lawyers of any discipline.
Building on the first Chancery Lane Project Hackathon, in November 2019 which led to the publication of a Playbook of Contract Precedents and a set of Green Papers of Model Laws, this hack will provide the space for participants to develop innovative approaches to rewiring contracts and laws to fight climate change. Ahead of the event participants will also be able to help shape the day by contributing ideas to be worked on, as well as propose themes for groups of participants to tackle at the event.
The Chancery Lane Project is powered by pro bono talent, drawn from across the legal profession. If you would like to get hands on with running this event then please get in touch. This might involve working ahead of the event to help shape a fantastic day, facilitating during the event itself, or helping with the write up and continuation of ideas development after the even.
All Chancery Lane Project events are normally free. For this joint event with esela - The legal network for social impact, we are required to charge a ticket price to cover event costs not met by philanthropic contributions.
Lunch is included.
