Fiduciary Duty in a Changing World: Impact Investing - the Why and How, 8 July 2020


How should pension funds, which hold some of the largest pools of capital in the world but have strict fiduciary duties, approach impact investment?


On Wednesday 8 July 2020, esela - The legal network for social impact and the Impact Investing Institute hosted an online panel on the topic of ‘Fiduciary Duty in a Changing World: Impact Investing - the Why and How'.


This event explored - from legal and investor perspectives - why and how pension trustees can engage positively with impact investment in a way which is consistent with their fiduciary duties. It also examines some of the governance and practical principles pension trustees and other fiduciaries will wish to follow in a rapidly changing world.


Speakers presented and discussed the conclusions of recent work by the Impact Investing Institute and its legal panel.
